States that an investigation into January 6th is necessary.
Principal deputy press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre communicated the White House’s disappointment after the minority party voted against an investigation into the event of January 6. “Members of the Senate aren’t sent to Washington to rubber-stamp any party’s views. They swear on oath to support and defend the Constitution, and today unfortunately they failed to do that,” she said.
She did not say that President Biden was considering a presidential commission at this time. She reemphasized the president’s commitment to a bipartisan-passed investigation and working with Congress to fully bring to justice this “existential crisis of democracy.”
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For advisors in the White House to have wisdom in offering the president their recommendations.
- For discernment for Congress as investigations are considered.
- That President Biden and Congress would work together for the good of the country.
